Flounder Tournament Rules 2016

Dates:             May 20-22, 2016

 

Location:        Chincoteague VA.  Headquarters and weigh in will be at Curtis Merritt Harbor.

Boats must launch/leave from Chincoteague ports.

Entry Fee:                   $60.00 / Boat by April 13th Early Bird Discount

$85.00 / Boat April 14th – May 11th

Last day to register is May 11th 2015 at the chapter meeting.

 

Kids Tourney—Open to kids 14 & under

$10/ by April 8th / $15 April 14th-May 11th

Weigh up to 2 fish per day—NO buying extra fish

Kids fish count for kid’s tournament only.  Cumulative weight of 3 fish

 

Calcutta:

Optional $75 / Boat, winner take all for heaviest single fish

 $100 / Boat, after April 14th –May 11th

 

Heavy Fish of the Day:    

$25/ Boat, by April 13th Early bird discount

$30/ Boat, from April 14th –May 11th

Prize for Heaviest Fish weighed in each day. Total purse will be divided by 3.

Calcutta winning fish is not eligible  

 

Rules:  Winners will be determined by total weight of 4 fish.  Only 4 fish can be weighed each day. You must determine which fish you want to weigh. We will not cull fish for you on the official scale!  You can weigh 4 fish for free, after that it will be $5 per fish.  Fish must be paid prior to placing on the scale, any new fish will replace the smallest previously weighed fish provided it is larger.  Fish must be weighed the day caught.  No holdovers. Boat captains must be current Frederick Chapter MSSA member.   

 

Weigh-in:       Friday and Saturday 4:00 pm GPS Time,      Sunday 1:00 pm

Entrants must be in line with fish by weigh in time, no exceptions!

Prize Payout:     

4 Prize Tournament is         11-19 Boats

5 Prize Tournament is 20 Boats & over

The Chapter will provide an extra $450 for the top 3 places. 

 

Daily:                  The Chapter will provide an additional $300 for prizes. We will have a $100 daily for the following:    Friday – closest to (without going over) 2.6lbs, Saturday 2.2lbs and Sunday 1.9 lbs. In case of a tie funds will be spilt.

 

Lucky Loser:       We will also do a lucky loser drawing and you must be present at the June meeting.  All boats not winning a prize, excluding the kids division, will be eligible and the payout will be the dollars collected from the replacement fish.

 

Accommodations:              Rooms available at Sea Hawk Motel, Maddox Blvd.  757-336-6527.

Room w/2 double beds             $70 (regular rate $85)

Room w/2 Queen Beds             $80 (regular rate $95)

1 room Efficiency                     $90 (regular rate $115)

2 room efficiency                       $95 (regular rate $125)

Dinner:         There will be a buffet dinner on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Don’s 4113 Main St

Adults:   $17    Children 10 & under   $9

Price includes tax, tip and NON alcoholic drinks–$3 extra for salad bar which you can add and pay for at the restaurant on your own separate tab
