Frank Daringer   – Mid-Shore Electronics

Frank will give an informative talk on the usage of Digital Selective Calling (DSC) system. 

Frank will bring pelican case with a color chart plotter & VHF wired together to run real time. Since he’ll use a “dummy load” it’s legal per FCC.

We will use actual emergency DSC (distress) to familiarize you with the standard questions you get from GARMIN, ICOM & Standard Horizon when initiating DSC.

He will demonstrate how to private, DSC radio to DSC radio calls using MMSI#’s.  He’ll also go over how to use the position tracking feature to track other vessels using each others MMSI#.

Everyone in attendance will have opportunity to use distress DSC button and have experience if it should ever truly “come up”.

This will be an excellent, hands-on informational/training seminar that members will not want to miss.
