President’s Message:

Finally, we a couple of 60 degree days and it gets the blood flowing for some good ol’ fishin’. What a long, cold, windy, snowy and miserable winter. But, it’s time to pull the covers off the boat, fire her up and get her ready for opening day which is now only a couple of weeks away. Wow, just the thought of being on the water, warm days, flip flops, shorts, fishing, steamed crabs and of course, COLD BEER, sure makes the winter blues disappear.

The Chapter has, as always, some great upcoming tournaments and events that we are diligently trying to make fun and rewarding for our members. We would like to see increased participation in these events. Therefore, for the upcoming Spring Rockfish and Flounder tournaments the Board has voted to contribute additional prize monies for the top three finishers. This is in addition to the money the Chapter has already contributed to the daily prizes. So, for those of you haven’t fished these tournaments, consider not only the member camaraderie that exists, but the chance to win a grand or so of money doing what we love to do…..FISH. Signup sheets for both the Spring Rockfish and Flounder tournaments will be available at the April 9th meeting.

The upcoming meeting will be very informative, as, Greg Buckner of Miss Susie Charters will be speaking about spring trolling tactics in the middle/lower bay area. Shore Tackle will be there with a wide variety of terminal tackle, rods, line and everything we need for opening day. Hope to see everyone there.
