President’s Message

Boy, I’ll tell ya, we (our chapter) started the New Year off with one helluva January. For those of you that didn’t attend the dinner dance, you sure missed a good time. We had over 126 attendees, plenty of food, great prizes, a $500 50/50 winner and some not so good dancing fisherman. Except for Walt Shaw, man that cat can cut the rug. I truly enjoyed myself and I hope everyone else did.

The following week put on a spectacular one day Fishing Expo at the Frederick Fairgrounds. This was our first show of this magnitude (12,000 sq. ft.) and we filled it to capacity. The speakers where outstanding and we were overwhelmed by the attendance to each seminar.

Member participation at both events fell well short of my expectations. It took a tremendous amount of effort from the few that participated to make these events successful. On behalf of all, I would like to thank the few who stepped up for your time and efforts. Only one thing I can say…….A JOB WELL DONE!

February is a transition month for many of us that allows us to evaluate our tackle needs for the upcoming season. With a host of other shows coming up (Annapolis, Essex/Middle River and Southern Maryland chapter) there will be plenty of opportunities to purchase everything needed this season.Check out the calendar of events on our webpage for information regarding dates and time.

We will begin signups for our upcoming annual Spring Rockfish and Flounder tournaments. I have some exciting news at our next meeting regarding all of the chapter tournaments this year.

Thanks again to everyone that made January such a huge success. I appreciate everyone’s efforts. Thanks to all who awarded me the Notre Dame picture. I can’t wait for opening day and looking forward to another spectacular year with the chapter
